ONGAKU – THE SOUND OF MUSIC
Ongaku is the Music Room at Clap, Dubai. Literally translating as Music in Japanese, Ongaku plays host to some of the world's and the UAE's finest musical talent. We created the logotype and logomarque and then developed part of the Japanese type in the logomarque into a playful musical character. Our 3D animation provides the viewer with a glimpse of energetic Tokyo street scenes and its nightlife.
CLAP RESTAURANT: TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING IS NEVER ENOUGH
We supported the leadership team in building out Clap’s purpose, values, brand behaviour and positioning: too much of a good thing is never enough; and then set about updating their visual identity to create a perfectly balanced, contemporary brand rooted in Japanese culture, adding relevance for its audience.
Addmind wanted to retain the name and the existing logotype so we set about creating a new logomarque alongside a design system and visual identity. Our Kimono pattern adorned the FOH uniform as well as the menus and our geometric print, incorporating our logormarque, reminiscent of those found in Japanese screens, transcended every touchpoint including waistcoat silks, gift bags, pre-mix cocktail packaging and menus. We also developed a 3D animation for the brand's social channels.

As you move through Clap's magnificent dining room you seamlessly enter Ongaku, The Music Room at Clap. Ongaku literally translates as Music in Japanese. Clap has firmly established itself in DIFC, winning Best New Fine-Dining Restaurant in the Time Out Dubai restaurant awards in March 2021. Success is never easily achieved, but too much of a good thing really is never enough...
