We were invited to create the brand identity, branded applications and website for the Palm Court at the new Kimpton Fitzroy, London. The Palm Court is the heart and social hub of the hotel and features a soaring glass ceiling that floods the room with light creating the perfect setting for afternoon tea. We created an elegant bespoke logotype based on engraved letterforms from around the turn of the 20th century (the original hotel opened in 1898).
To accompany the logotype we illustrated a series of palm, botanical and herbal motifs including camomile and elderflower – leaning heavily on the teas for inspiration. Alongside the brand identity, we designed the website and all of the internal applications including the menus, placemats and bill folds.
