MOVING IMAGE: UGG GREAT ESCAPE
CREATIVE DIRECTION: UGG AUSTRALIA SPRING 15
For Spring ’15 we created and art-directed a new campaign that celebrates those small moments that mean the most. Following three friends on their GREAT ESCAPE,
we watch them travel from the city to the beach for a spontaneous summer’s day out. Stills by SCOTT TRINDLE, motion by PUNDERSON’S GARDENS and styled by CELESTINE COONEY, the imagery features in UGG advertising, in-store and online globally. The story also features in Bulletin, the UGG Australia brand’s global consumer print touchpoint, available in-store.
ART DIRECTION: ALFRED DUNHILL ARCHIVE
ALFRED DUNHILL commissioned PLUS AGENCY to art direct the photography of two of the most iconic items from their archive: A cigarette lighter, hand engraved by PABLO PICASSO, given by the artist to his lover and muse DORA MAAR and a bespoke tuxedo made for TRUMAN CAPOTE, worn by the writer to his
Black & White ball. Photography by PAUL WETHERELL.
MOVING IMAGE: UGG SUPER 8
As additional content to sit along side the THIS IS UGG campaign films we shot this behind the scenes vignette on SUPER 8 film.
MOVING IMAGE: UGG HANNELI MUSTAPARTA
MOVING IMAGE: UGG JACK GUINNESS
CREATIVE DIRECTION: UGG AUSTRALIA FALL 14
For Fall ’14 we concepted and art directed two stories to sit under the umbrella of the new global This Is UGG campaign. The campaign celebrates those small moments in our lives, the ones that mean the most. Jack’s Bar features style icon and model
JACK GUINNESS and Out Of Office features Norwegian fashion blogger and model HANNELI MUSTAPARTA. Shot by SCOTT TRINDLE and styled by
CELESTINE COONEY, sets and props were courtesy of ALEXANDRA LEAVEY.
The imagery is featuring in UGG stores and online this autumn around the world and in UGG Bulletin. Concepted and designed by Plus Agency, Bulletin is the UGG brands’ global consumer publication. As well as being inserted into October issues of British Vogue, Elle and Bazaar, Bulletin is also available in-stores around the globe.
Advertising runs in print, out of home, online and on digital TV.
BRANDING: HOLBORN DINING ROOM
DES McDONALD (ex CEO of Carpice Holdings) and ROSEWOOD LONDON, winner of Best New Hotel in the World at Telegraph Luxury Travel awards, briefed PLUS AGENCY to pitch for the branding of the new grand brasserie and delicatessen that opened in Holborn in March 2014. We delivered a modern take on classic Brasserie style branding and developed a suite of collateral including the menus, wine labels, coffee cups, water bottles and even the deli bicycle signs!
DESIGN: SOHO HOUSE ONE NIGHT ONLY
To coincide with the launch of HIGH ROAD HOUSE’s series of monthly nights inviting guest chef’s and restaurants to stage one-off take overs, PLUS AGENCY were briefed to design a ‘recipe book’ to accompany the events. The events offer House members and guests a unique sample menu prepared by the guest chef or restaurant.
Prior to each event, a key dish from the sample menu including the cooking method, would be designed, printed and inserted into the book or handed to members who already have the covers. We designed a ONE NIGHT ONLY motif for the events and recipe book and the covers are hole punched, re-enforced and ring fastened to allow the easy addition of new recipes each month. The ring also allows the book to be hung in the kitchen and the spine protector in HIGH ROAD HOUSE orange lends the book a durable quality. World class chef’s gracing the clubs kitchen have included
GIORGIO LOCATELLI, MICHEL ROUX JR & MONICA GALETTI and MARK HIX.
DESIGN: AVENUE 32 LITTLE POCKET BOOK
In late spring 2013, luxury online shopping neighbourhood AVENUE 32 briefed
PLUS AGENCY to develop a brochure to be given away at Guards Polo and door dropped to residents of Kensington and Chelsea. The objective was to create awareness and showcase the breadth of designers available online. We developed the
LITTLE POCKET BOOK concept where we hand-picked a series of exclusive global events that their customers might attend. Each event was accompanied by a short piece of editorial with an appropriate and carefully selected designer’s product facing it.
The covers were foiled white onto colorplan ebony, morocco emboss, printed on
GF SMITH accent natural and singer sewn, black thread.
DESIGN: AVENUE 32
Luxury on-line shopping retailer, AVENUE 32 hosted a press and consumer event to launch their VIP CLOTHES CONCIERGE service in 2013 at the new
JUMERIAH LIVING GROSVENOR APARTMENTS. They briefed us to create a digital save the date invitation with a follow up printed one.
The concept centred around a hotel room door sign given that the concept launched in the JUMERIAH LIVING APARTMENTS. We used a decorative headline typeface that we customised to modernise and used subtle animation on the digital eInvitation to give the impression that the invitation was swinging as if on the back of the hotel door.
The printed invitation comprised a foiled front and foiled and printed reverse onto triplexed GF SMITH COLORPLAN with a black middle sheet. The envelopes were half lined with gold lining paper.
WEBSITE DESIGN: SEED
SEED, home to the art of discovery and an emerging generation of creative talent commissioned PLUS AGENCY to re-imagine their online retail destination. Specialising in sourcing a diverse mix of homewares, jewellery, textiles, ceramics and objet trouvé hand picked from across the UK and beyond, SEED briefed PLUS to update its website and integrate a fully transactional interface.
The new online destination is easy to navigate and embraces SEED’s modern, natural aesthetic and allows users to explore and discover the brand’s beautiful hand-picked products. PLUS AGENCY collaborated with KILROY JAMES to build the site and ensure the site was easy to use, buy from and engage with.
DESIGN: SCARFES BAR BARTENDERS BOOK
As part of the SCARFES BAR collateral, we designed this case for their Bartenders book. Comprising over 600 cocktails, wines and spirts, the cover was inspired by the first known Bartenders Bible by Jerry Thomas, first written and published in 1862.
Working with WYVERN BINDERY, each case bound cover is embossed and handmade using fine leather.
DESIGN: Scarfes Bar Menu
Following on from the branding, PLUS AGENCY created the SCARFES BAR menus. The A3 Menu incorporates a barn door fold and the All Day, A4 menu folds down to DL. The menus utilise typographic ornaments, Victorian inspired watermarks and are wax sealed utilising the Champagne Bucket device PLUS AGENCY developed as part of the branding.
PLUS AGENCY commissioned STEVEN FISHER to shoot ‘OVER YOUR SHOULDER’, a film documenting the production of CENTREFOLD Issue 8.
DESIGN: BABINGTON WEDDING BROCHURE
Something old, something new… We drew our inspiration for this project for
SOHO HOUSE from vintage wedding albums. The images were mounted into the album using slits to create integrated photo-mounts with the locations for each part of the House printed on the reverse of each image. Printed on GF SMITH NATURALIS.

BRANDING: URBAN JUNKIES
Digital media brand URBAN JUNKIES recently commissioned our agency to re-design their logo and stationery. Together we discussed the need for their branding to be more aligned with their luxury clients. We enlisted the skills of the MONOTYPE studio to help us craft the letter shapes from sketches we’d done in the studio. The stunning results gained from this collaboration reminded us of how much we like working with other creatives when the right opportunities arise. The stationery printed for us by DOWNEY & CO features extra thick COLORPLAN cards with hot foil logo and matching guilt edging, how very Bond St.
DESIGN: SOHO HOUSE OPEN HOUSE
The photographic book, now in its 6th edition, centered around Soho Houses’ design aesthetic and showcased their present Houses and the concepts for their new launches at WEST HOLLYWOOD, BERLIN and MIAMI in the form of illustrated visualisations.
PLUS AGENCY worked with typographer JULIAN MOREY to develop the concept borrowing from the idea of an OPEN DAY providing the reader with a photographic walk-through each House. The book is updated as each new House opens and subsequent editions are planned as the Group adds to its’ global portfolio. Design: PLUS AGENCY. Photography: Various. Words: JUSTIN QUIRK.
